Right now, the fashion industry exists in an age that dehumanizes and disenfranchises people from their most authentic self. From Instagram's echo chamber, to fast fashion, true artistry and purpose are being suppressed in favor of what is “in”. cultra’s mission is to empower its wearers and subscribers through art and fashion and by giving them a platform.
The clothes derive inspiration from various American historical contexts. Some examples are the 1860s cowboys and militiamen in Midwestern United States, the Black Panthers of the 1960s, and current-day military men and women. Through this, cultra hopes to create clothing that has longevity and can be kept in your closet for years. By cultivating a community environment, which welcomes people from all walks of life, cultra also hopes to foster open discussion and transparency around issues that matter and should be talked about from different perspectives. cultra is not just a fashion brand, it is an artist network geared towards change and will continue to push the boundaries set in place without selling out.
